Morning light after a fresh snow really does create a winter wonder land. I hate to use that old cliche, but it is just so true. Looking out the window in my studio to see beautiful lavender shadows around the snow drifts and a soft muted light shining through the trees drew me to stop painting and take photos before the light changed. The snow-covered raspberry bushes, tree limbs, and sprays of evergreen stood out from the soft shades deeper in the woods. As soon as I finished the painting I was working on, I had to start this painting immediately.
